The Orthodox Medical and Educational Center "Zhizn'" (PMPTs Zhizn' [Life])
was created in Moscow in 1993.
The Center has its task the dissemination of Christian
views on questions of family and marriage, various aspects of modern
medicine which have spiritual and moral significance, including the
problems of abortion and its consequences, as well as questions of
demography. The Zhizn' Center conducts lectures in schools,
educational facilities, and higher educational institutions. The Center
has at its disposal books, brochures, placards, leaflets, and audio- and
video-materials on medical and educational themes. All printed materials
are regularly refreshed on the Zhizn' Center's CD, and on the Internet
webpage. The Zhizn' Center has branches in many regions of Russia.
The St. Petersburg branch of the Orthodox Medical and Educational Center
Zhizn' began its work in 2003.
The necessity of our work is caused by the fact that:
1. The state is not conducting active work to preserve the lives of
unborn children, despite the fact that today this is one of the
most important political, moral, and spiritual problems of Russia
2. According to survey data, 85% of women who have abortions are not
informed of the fact that their child is already a living human being, and they
do not know what to what torments they are condemning it, nor do they
understand the gravity of the consequences of this operation.
We know by experience that:
there is sufficient sympathy, discussion, information, and assistance
that the child could be saved. In the Zhizn' Center and its branches around Russia
there have been many children saved already.
And how many tragic mistakes can be avoided if we all together take
up this task!
We are glad to work together with all organizations and private
individuals interested in our activity.
Our Center is a social organization. Without your voluntary assistance
our activity will be impossible.
